John Wood Livestock takes your privacy seriously. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are
John Wood Livestock is a livestock trading business run by John and Karen Wood from Merley Hall Farm, Wimborne, Dorset. We are the data controller for the personal information you submit through this website.
What we collect
We collect only the details you choose to give us through the forms on this site.
- Contact form: your name, phone number, optional email address, and the message you send.
- Sell-your-stock form: your name, phone, farm location, details of the stock you are offering, and any photos you choose to attach.
- Logged on every visit: your IP address, browser type, and pages viewed. This is standard web server logging used for diagnostics and security only.
Why we collect it
We use your information for one purpose only: to respond to your enquiry. We do not run marketing campaigns, we do not build mailing lists, and we do not profile you.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for as long as is reasonably needed to deal with the conversation, complete any resulting trade, and meet our tax and accounting record-keeping obligations. After that, we delete the records.
Who sees it
Your enquiry comes through to John directly by email. We use two third-party services that handle data on our behalf:
- Resend delivers the email itself. They process the message contents in transit.
- Vercel hosts this website. Standard server logs pass through their infrastructure.
We do not sell or share your information with anyone else. We will never pass your details to other farmers, buyers, or any commercial third party.
Cookies
This site uses one functional cookie, set only when the administrator (John) logs in to the back office. There are no tracking, advertising, or analytics cookies on this site.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. To make a request, email us at john@johnwoodlivestock.co.uk or call John on 07980 655 637. We will respond within thirty days.
If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this page from time to time. When we do, we update the date at the top.
